Website Design

Need A Website designer? Think again.

If you are looking for a website designer, I highly recommend reading this page. You may find what you really need goes way beyond hiring someone to design and build you a website. (More on this below…)

I never meant to get into the website creating business... But when i did...

Over the course of nearly two decades,  I’ve created hundreds (and hundreds) of landing pages and full-blown websites across countless industries for clients and my own projects.

I never set out to be a “web designer”. But as a full stack marketer, creating landing pages, websites, and marketing funnels to drive sales and leads to offers came naturally and I enjoy doing it.

If you need a website, landing page, or full marketing funnel, let’s talk. But not yet…

Unlike many other web designers, what I also bring to the table is two decades of hands-on Internet Marketing experience. As far as what I know and what I do…

  • Copywriting (Websites, Direct Mail, Emails, Salesletters, etc.)
  • Social Media Marketing
  • SEO
  • Email Marketing
  • Marketing Funnel Creation
  • Website Development
  • Graphic Design
  • Company Launches
  • Project Management
  • Product Development
  • Branding
  • Back Office Development
  • Video Scripting
  • Membership Websites
  • WordPress
  • Video Editing
  • Idea Generation
  • Content Development
  • Content Calendar Management
  • Blogging
  • Product Launches
  • Amazon Product Listings
  • Lead Generation
  • Video Production
  • Outsourcing
  • Niche Websites
  • Sales Funnels
  • Consulting
  • Recruiting
  • Book Writing,  Publishing. Marketing
  • Product & Company Naming
  • Seminar Marketing
  • Countless Software Programs
  • And Much More
Sure, it’s a lot to keep up with. But this is what I do and have done for a long time. Crazy? Maybe.

But not as crazy as what you’re about to learn…

Website samples go... here? Nope. let's go all in blind.

Some think a website designer will cure their marketing blues.

Yes, I know. Typically website designers like to provide links and screenshots of all their work. After all, if you’re going to buy something, you want to see what it looks like.

I get it.

But I’m not here to dazzle you with my design abilities. (Although people do like what I create. At least my friends tell me so. Strangers and clients… well… I never hear from them again. I’m kidding.)

Let’s be honest. There are plenty of amazing website designers and agencies out there. But before you make any quick decisions…

Please allow me to respectfully challenge what you’re actually looking for right now…

When you think about it, what you need is so much more than just a fancy beautiful website filled with eye candy.

You can get one of those anywhere.

What you really need is a website that produces real results: Highly qualified leads and/or sales.

I mean, that’s why you’re in business right? Leads and/or sales? Revenue? Cash? Wheat pennies?

I know plenty of websites and landing pages that are “ugly” but generate millions of dollars a year… even millions of dollars every single month.

If a fancy website design was all it took to succeed in the online game, we’d all be billionaires. There are literally hundreds of thousands of beautiful website templates out there.

let me tell you a little secret most website designers do not want you to know...

In most cases, the actual design plays a small role in the end result.

Yes, of course you want your website to look and function well and fast on mobile (most traffic is mobile now-a-days, as you know). And yes, of course you want it to look nice on desktop.

But where the rubber meets the road is the sales copy.

Let’s play a little game…

Reach out to 10 website designers. Ask all of them how many years of experience they have writing actual sales copy on websites.

Not blog posts. Yawn. Boring. Like my blog post about the Art of the Pre-launch. (Careful, that’s a rabbit hole. I wrote over 12,900 words in that blog post. It’s like a book for crying out loud.) Those are great for SEO, social media, and traffic generation, but there needs to be more.

Much more…

I’m talking heavy-hitting sales copy that gets website visitors to whip out their credit cards or fill out lead forms.

I’m talking about writing copy so compelling that you get into the heads of your target market because you speak directly to all of their pains, their worries, their problems, and you present your business, product, or service, as, “THE SOLUTION”.

Ask the other designers you’re speaking to if they can write or edit your current sales copy that will have such a dramatic impact on your sales or leads that you’re finally able to start thinking about that vacation home again… or 2nd one… or 3rd one…

I propose that you’re not just looking for a “website designer“.

You’re looking for someone who can help you take your business to the next level and beyond – and a new website is just one little piece of the puzzle.

Now we’re getting somewhere… And that full stack marketing, website designing, direct response copywriting person is not easy to find.

Gosh. If only we were able to find someone who could just do everything…

That would save so much money vs. hiring an entire team internally or hiring a fully staffed marketing agency where you’re assigned 18 highly paid people to your project, right?

That would save you so much time trying to manage a whole team of people all tripping and falling over each other, spilling coffee, and fighting for the last piece of pizza, right?

Of course.

By the way… YesWhen you contact me about your website project, if you want a list of 9 or so recent websites I’ve created for clients and myself, just let me know. I’m not going to keep all my sites top secret. I realize you need to see some real examples.

So here’s the thing we both know…

You Have 2,983,727 other website designers to choose from.

I made that number up, but it’s probably low. There are so many people, marketing agencies, and website design companies to choose from globally today, it’s beyond overwhelming.

You’ll get a quote for $599 from someone overseas, another quote for $10K from a local designer, and yet another quote for $27K from a larger agency.

So how in the heck do you choose the right website designer?

If I were in your shoes, what I’d look for is a few things…

  • Is this person (or agency) someone who I would enjoy working with long-term?

  • Does this person bring other experience to the table that can help me sell more products or services? (Examples: Creating marketing campaigns, writing direct response copy, etc.)

  • Does this person have experience utilizing the latest technology when it comes developing websites and hosting options?

  • Does this person look good wearing sunglasses?

You need to be very picky who you hire simply because you can.

Every website designer is going to tell you pretty much the same things.

They will all show you pretty websites they have designed…

They will say they can also offer SEO, social media marketing management, and other paid services…

They will say they have the best hosting solutions to make your website faster than a turkey running away from farmer Joe on Thanksgiving eve…

However, the pricing differences will be all over the board.

Ultimately, you need to ask yourself, “What other value will this web designer bring to my business?”

That’s the key right there. And when you think about it, that’s really all you need to ask yourself when reaching out to website designers. Also ask yourself…

  • Will they come up with ideas on how to generate additional revenue for your business?

  • Do they have a couple decades of experience writing direct response copy for websites?

  • Have they worked in dozens of other industries where they can combine methods/ideas/etc. to create something truly unique for your business and industry? (You have to stand out in this noisy world.)

  • Have they marketed hundreds of websites producing millions of dollars in revenue for their clients?

You have to think far beyond the design of the website. Think about how much value the designer you work with will add to your business over the long-term.

I'm picky on who i work with, just like you need to be.

I’ll be upfront and let you know that creating websites is not my primary business. There are several types of copywriting, launch consulting, and other marketing services I provide. Plus I run several of my own websites and have other businesses.

Designing websites came with the territory with online marketing. But not all marketers are web designers. Many outsource the actual design and back-end setup to others.

But because I’m an accidental web designer, I’m pretty darn picky on the projects I take on.

Why? Because I am limited on time, depending on the size of other projects I’m involved with or what’s going on in my other businesses. (Sometimes I get scooped up for projects that take 3 to 12+ months and I’m not available for any new projects.)

So why do I offer website creation as a service?

Because I love creating and designing websites. It’s an excellent creative outlet that combines design and copywriting.

If I’m not creating something online, then I’m drawing on the walls with crayons. And that’s not good.

But I’ll admit, I’ve gone hard-core when it comes to websites over the years…

The most active websites that I personally owned and built was over 100 several years ago when I was very active in niche and affiliate marketing. That was quite the juggle between managing the sites, content writers, SEO, keyword research for article topics, staying on top of it with hosting, plugins, rankings, affiliate programs, you name it.

I now run and manage much less than that, but I’m still incredibly active creating new websites and landing pages for myself and my clients.

Some people like to fly kites, watch birds, play video games, or do some other hobby. My hobby is building websites and landing pages. Strange, I know. Some would say to seek help. I reply that I am. I’m seeking clients to help feed my strange hobby.

Now as much as I’d love to work with you, the reality is that we may not be a good fit.

Why? Because…

if you need a basic site with basic results, upwork is a great place to hire someone.

Nothing against Upwork or the providers there. Honestly, I’ve hired dozens of programmers, video production folks, content writers, and many others to assist me with countless projects.

Sure, you could find a website designer and content writer and get all the pieces put together just like many before you have done.

Will you have a nice looking site? Sure. There are thousands of website designers, marketing funnel builders, landing page designers, etc. on there.

Will the copy on all of the pages razzle-dazzle your visitors to taking action? We don’t know. It’s not easy finding a designer who writes sales copy.

Will either the content writer or web designer provide any type of marketing consulting based on real-world experience? Not sure, you’ll have to ask them. I’d say it’s unlikely, especially on the content writer side.

Ultimately, I highly recommend taking some time to think about all of this. It’s a different way of thinking and maybe not something you have considered.

You came here looking for a web designer. And now you may be realizing you may need much more than that to reach the revenue goals you have in your business.

I get it. It’s a lot to take in.

Ask yourself… Is a website designer really going to solve all my needs when it comes to design, marketing, and ultimately driving more revenue into my business?

Maybe. If you hire the right one.

They are out there.

Just not so easy to find.

If you’d like to see some websites I’ve created and discuss your project to see if I’m within your budget, let’s chat on the phone or Zoom. I look forward to speaking with you about your project.

who else wants to contact a website designer with zero website designs on his landing page? (those who read between the lines are OFTEN the first in line.)
